Criminal/Traffic/DWI
Our Criminal and Traffic Defense Section is headed by a former Assistant District Attorney. Whether you received a minor traffic ticket or are facing a serious felony charge, Mulligan Epstein Attorneys will stand up for you and defend your interests with an aggressive and individually tailored approach to your case.
Traffic Violations
A conviction in traffic court can result in license points and insurance points, which can increase your insurance premiums. North Carolina's traffic laws are tough and ever changing. At Mulligan Epstein Attorneys we want to put our knowledge and experience to work for you. We usually resolve your traffic case without your presence in court. We always take the time to examine your driving record so the results in your case will be best suited to your individual circumstances.
DWI Defense
North Carolina has some of the toughest DWI laws in the nation. Even a first offense can result in serious consequences, including hefty fines, loss of license, community service, and in extreme circumstances, even jail time. If you have had a prior DWI conviction, jail time is probably mandatory if you are convicted again. We know what is at stake and we have the experience and commitment to guide you through the process, both in and out of the courtroom. In addition to challenging the State's evidence at trial, our attorneys and staff will help you navigate the numerous DMV requirements that accompany a DWI charge. Finally, if your vehicle was seized, we may be able to recover it for you.
Misdemeanor and Felony Defense
Whether you are accused of a misdemeanor, a drug offense, or a serious felony, the attorneys at Mulligan Epstein always work to resolve your charges with your best interests in mind. We will always mount an aggressive defense and take your case to trial if it proves to be in your best interests. However, by taking the time to get to know you, we may be able to find other creative ways to beat the charges in a way that better suits your personal circumstances and allows an ultimate dismissal of your case. Some examples of these dispositions are deferred prosecutions or 90-96 drug deferrals, among others. Whenever possible, we will work to clear your record and your name by expunging your criminal record.
There is too much at stake to stand alone. Call us today for a free confidential consultation.
